An estimated 1.5 million people are expected to visit the State of Maryland in 2012 to celebrate the Bicentennial of the War of 1812, commissioned by Governor Martin O’Malley. All activities are slated to commence in June of 2012 and run through August 2015.
With the current economic turmoil, we anticipate that this three year stint of events will serve as an accelerator to generate immediate revenue into the Port Towns. Allowing us to leverage thousands of visitors into the area will help to provide long-term sustainability, financial opportunities, as well as growth and development.
